Erik on the wide Rovers
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Erik Edman is aware of the threat that could come from both flanks at Ewood Park tonight.
The Swedish full-back came up against Aussie wide man Brett Emerton when the pair plied their trade in Holland while on the opposite side of the pitch, Norwegian international Morten Gamst Pedersen has caught the eye with some spectacular goals since joining Rovers last season.
Saturday’s stunning volley against Fulham took his tally to nine goals in 29 games for Rovers — an impressive return for a left winger.
“I’ve watched him and he’s fantastic particularly at set-pieces,” said Erik. “I saw a couple of corners he took against Fulham and they were accurate, pacy and he’s on fire at the moment.
“We’ll have to pay him some attention. I haven’t played against him. He’s a strong runner, a great left foot and set-pieces are his strengths.”
Opinion appears divided over Emerton’s time so far at Ewood Park but he earned rave reviews in his time at Feyenoord.
“He’s another player I’m impressed with,” said Erik, who spent three seasons at Heerenveen. “I played against him in Holland and I know what he’s capable of.
“Maybe he hasn’t showed it England so much, perhaps he struggled when the team was struggling, but he is very strong, skilful and a player we have to be aware of as well.”
