Eric relishing MLS trip

Eric Dier has confessed his love for America – and can’t wait to travel to Denver for the MLS All Star game next week.
The young defender travelled Stateside for his summer break and is now heading back with the squad for the MLS’s showpiece match at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park on Wednesday, July 29 (Thursday, July 30, UK).
It should prove a pre-season cracker as well with the likes of David Villa, Kaka, Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard all involved – as well as ex-Spurs Robbie Keane and Clint Dempsey.
“It will be a great trip, I love it over there,” said the versatile defender who made 36 appearances in all competitions last season.
“I went there in the summer and had a great time but now I get to go to somewhere else in America that I haven’t seen and it’ll be really enjoyable and to play football, which is even better!
“I’ve been to a couple of places that are really holiday destinations. I’ve also been to Texas and Philadelphia but never been to Denver so I’m looking forward to going there.
“You can tell that soccer is growing with all the big names going over there like Gerrard, Lampard and Pirlo.
“I followed the Women’s World Cup with the England ladies doing so well and in the States women’s football is huge.
“The sport is really on the up so hopefully we can put on a good show.”
