Eric expecting good test against Toffees

Eric Dier wants to put a stop to his old club’s form in front of goal this weekend.
The Toffees have scored 10 goals in their first four games in all competitions, three of which came in an away win at Southampton with another five being racked up in their midweek Capital One Cup victory at Barnsley.
Eric spent time on loan in the youth ranks at Goodison Park back in 2011 and often trained with the likes of Ross Barkley.
Now gearing up to face his former club in Saturday’s 5.30pm kick-off, the 21-year-old is keen to halt the goalscoring form of Roberto Martinez’s side in a bid to take our first three points of the season at White Hart Lane.
“Everton have been really good so far this season so it’ll be a tough game, but obviously we’re determined to take the points ourselves,” said Eric.
“There’s still a few players at Everton from the time I was there – I trained with their first team sometimes and got to know people like Ross Barkley. He’s been playing really well so it’ll be good to test ourselves against people like him.
“We’re extremely disappointed with how it’s gone in terms of our results so far. We’ve obviously conceded after going ahead in the last two games but we’re going to try our best not to let it happen again.”
