England topple Argentina
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
England banished the memory of two harrowing World Cup defeats to Argentina with a heroic 1-0 triumph in Sapporo - Teddy Sheringham entering the fray for the dramatic climax.
Harsh losses in 1986 and 1998 - games that featured Glenn as both player and manager - can now be put on the back-burner as England fans will celebrate this victory probably right up until Wednesday's Group F finale against Nigeria, where a draw is required to secure a passage to the second phase.
Michael Owen was clipped in the area on 43 minutes and David Beckham took sweet revenge for his 1998 heartache by steering the penalty to thestranded Cavallero's left.
England pressed again early in the second half before Sven Goran Eriksson sent on Teddy for his first taste of World Cup 2002 action - and he didn't disappoint, bringing an elegance and poise to England's already pleasing passing game.
And Teddy almost stole the show. A 17 pass move resulted in the ball being swept across to our man on the right and he unleased a stinging volley that Cavallero did well to claw away.
England were well and truly pinned back in the latter stages, but held firm to record a stirring World Cup victory that will be savoured for many years to come.
