England call for Ledley

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Sven-Goran Eriksson has called up Ledley King for England's squad get-together in Hertfordshire.

The centre-back replaces Jonathan Woodgate, who pulled out with injury following Leeds' 4-2 defeat to Bolton.

It is a massive boost to Ledley who only made his first Premiership appearance of the season in Saturday's defeat at Arsenal after battling against a hip problem since the summer.

Ledley, still just 22, earned his first England cap against Italy in March after an outstanding campaign last season.

He is one of four late additions to the England get-together.

Jamie Carragher replaces Danny Mills, Phil Neville comes in for his brother Gary, and Ugo Ehiogu stands in for Rio Ferdinand.

The get-together has been arranged by Eriksson in place of a friendly fixture.

The next England match is a friendly against Australia in February at Upton Park.
