Dowie power

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Chris Hughton says you would struggle to better Iain Dowie's managerial feat in taking Palace into the Premiership as he takes a look at the three promoted teams we'll face next season.

Dowie took over in December last year with Palace in the relegation zone in Division One.

We had an early look at the job he had taken on when we clashed in the FA Cup third round at the Lane in January - we ran out comfortable 3-0 winners.

But Palace ended the season with just four defeats in 21 games culminating in Saturday's play-off final victory against West Ham.

So we're back at Selhurst Park next season with Palace promoted alongside West Brom and champions Norwich City.

Chris said: "It goes without saying that Palace deserve to go up because they've had a tremendous run, funnily enough that run started after we beat them in the FA Cup.

"Iain Dowie has done a tremendous job. You can't take anything away from his achievement and there won't be many greater achievements than that all season, taking them from where they were to promotion.

"I would expect Palace's management to be working hard on who they can bring in because they will know that to compete and compete well they will need to make additions to the squad.

"Out of the other two teams I think West Brom have a slight advantage because they've done been there recently and have that experience. The manager will know what's needed and they have that edge.

"Norwich deserve to come up with the points total they finished with, they scored a lot of goals and had a great record at Carrow Road.

"Palace finished in a free-flowing style while West Brom are more team-orientated with a tremendous work ethic.

"All three teams will relish the challenge but all three will find it difficult and that's the case with any team coming these days.

"It's nice to see all three teams have relatively young managers, neither have done it the easy way and that's good for the game.

"I would expect each manager to say that their main objective is to stay in the Premiership, full stop."
