Dolby aims for SF title

Craig Dolby is determined to go one step higher in Superleague Formula in 2010 - and that means taking the championship.

Craig Dolby is determined to go one step higher in Superleague Formula in 2010 - and that means taking the championship.

The highly-rated young driver is back behind the wheel for the Tottenham Hotspur SF team having battled it out with Liverpool for the crown last season.

Despite claiming our first SF win and six podium finishes, Liverpool managed to keep their noses just in fronot as the 2009 championship went to the wire.

The series has expanded to 12 rounds this time around and as the opening round at Silverstone this weekend draws ever close, Craig says he just can't wait for season to start.

"I said at the end of 2009 that if I got the chance to come back again, 2010 had the makings of a fantastic year for myself and Spurs.

"There's no question that I'm aiming to go one better and win the title this season. I've only got the top step in mind. It's going to be tough as some great drivers have been signed which is fantastic not only for the championship but also myself, as it gives me the chance to go up against them and hopefully come out somewhere near the top.

"I've been training hard throughout the winter which has made me fitter and lighter than I was last year.

"I'm also mentally stronger thanks to the confidence gained last year which I'll carry over into the new season.

"I also know the team. Magny-Cours at the start of last season was the first time I'd raced with the team, so with a year now under our belts together, we'll hopefully come out stronger at the start and emulate what Adrian (Valles) and Liverpool did, which was rack up lots of points early on."

About SF

Qualifying - Qualifying takes place on the Saturday. The teams are split into two groups, A and B, and qualify for 15 minutes. The four fastest cars from each group go through to the next stage. These eight teams then qualify head-to-head over quarter-finals, semi-final and final to determine grid positions for race one on Sunday.

Races - SF run two races of 45 minutes. Unique to SF is that qualifying grid from race one is completely reversed for race two, so if you have pole position in race one, you will start from last in race two. Points are awarded all the way from first to last, with winners taking 50.

Super Final - The top six cars (in terms of points over the two races) are entered into the 'Super Final', a five-lap shoot-out, to bring a spectacular conclusion to every round.
