Dnipro vs Spurs - betting preview with Betfred

Thu 20 February 2014, 08:52|Tottenham Hotspur

Dnipro have not played a competitive game for over two months as the Ukrainian Premier League has been on its winter break.

After an excellent start to their domestic campaign during which they beat Shakhtar Donetsk, Dnipro have faded somewhat as they’ve won just one of their last five league games. They’ve also lost four of their six European matches against teams from Europe’s Big Five leagues since 2011-12, although Juande Ramos will be keen to beat his former club.

Spurs qualified with a 100 per cent record from the group stage and including a qualifying round they’ve won all eight of their European matches this season.

They’ve had the best away record in the Barclays Premier League this season and have lost just one of their 10 away matches in Europe since the start of last season (W4-D5-L1) so will be confident of avoiding defeat.

A draw would be a good result for Spurs and at 23/10 that looks slightly better value than the away win.

Spurs conceded only two goals in the group stage, winning all three of their away games 2-0. Both legs of Dnipro’s tie at this stage last season had fewer than three goals as they were knocked out by FC Basel and we could be in for a close low-scoring game if the Ukrainians struggle to break Spurs down.

Under 2.5 Goals can be backed at 8/11, while the half-time draw also looks good value at evens.
