Disappointment for Glenn
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Glenn Hoddle was disappointed not to 'weather the storm' and come out of Highbury with a point yesterday.
Instead, the boss was left to reflect on Lauren's late penalty which wiped out Teddy Sheringham's equaliser, also from the spot, just four minutes earlier.
We changed formation from 4-4-2 to 3-5-2 after trailing at the interval and a much-improved display in the second half looked like bearing fruit when referee Mark Halsey awarded us a penalty after Gus Poyet's clash with David Seaman.
Teddy tucked away the penalty but our joy proved short lived as Mr Halsey pointed to the spot again as Dean Richards and Thierry Henry tumbled together in the area.
Boss Glenn was certainly unconvinced about the Gunners' penalty.
"Ours was probably a bit clearer," he said at Highbury. "There were less bodies around, but there was a good possibility it was a penalty.
"I couldn't tell you from where I was sitting whether theirs was or not but the referee gave it. I didn't have the best of views. The lads seemed to think it was 50-50, certainly not a blatant one.
"We changed into a three at half-time and we played better with the ball.
"I felt in the first half we weren't getting out with the ball. In the second half we definitely did that, went to three at the back and that gave us more options on the ball.
"We were chasing the game so we wanted to go more offensive and take a bit of a risk.
"We thought we'd got back into it at 1-1 and with six minutes to go we should have weathered the storm and come out of it. That was disappointing."
