Disappointment for Colin
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Colin Calderwood struggled to find the positives after his reserve side's goalless draw against Wimbledon on Monday night.
Although we enjoyed the greater share of possession chances were few and far between on a freezing night at Stevenage Borough.
Boss Colin pinpointed the return of Stephen Clemence and more action for Tim Sherwood and Steffen Iversen as plus points alongside a tight defensive display.
"We got what we deserved really," admitted Colin. "We didn't play nearly well enough to think we deserved the game.
"Individual mistakes made it hard for us to get any fluency and any real tempo in the game.
"It was very spasmodic and it just didn't happen for us. We'll just have to go away, lick our wounds and be thankful that we kept a clean sheet.
"The defensive side was good and they had to wrk hard because mistakes left them dealing with awkward situations they shouldn't have had to deal with."
Midfielder 'Clem' managed 70 minutes on his return, Tim played for 80 and Steffen was withdrawn at half-time as a precaution after a clash of heads left him with a sore neck.
Colin reflected: "Clem's been out for a while and the three of them have worked hard without games all season.
"They played tonight and it's different to training. Clem said everything seemed to be going on around him but you have to have a period of time to get back into the rhythm of games.
"The problem was that we let ourselves down individually and little groups all over the pitch just broke down so often.
"We made mistakes under no challenge and passed it straight to them. It was one of those nights really although one or two did themselves no harm whatsoever."
