The Brazilian midfielder headed home Andros Townsend’s cross for the second goal as we racked up 5-0 victory in the Europa League play-off, first leg at the Dinamo Arena.
However, he was quick to point out that the win was all that mattered.
“I’m very happy, not just about the goal, but the win,” said Paulinho. “We worked hard and played very well.”
Andros, outstanding on the night, opened the scoring and the pair were joined on the scoresheet by Roberto Soldado (2) and Danny Rose.
“It’s an important competition for us and we wanted to win,” said Paulinho.
“Now we rest, we train and Sunday is another important game (against Swansea) in the Premier League.
“It’s my first Premier League game at White Hart Lane and I must concentrate, play well and do everything to help us get three points.”
