Dier determined to finally get the better of Liverpool

Eric Dier feels we have a point to prove against Liverpool this weekend.
We’re without a win against the Reds in 10 games in all competitions, dating back to the 2012-13 season.
Eric is acutely aware of that statistic as we move towards another mammoth at match at Wembley on Sunday afternoon.
But after last week’s home victory over AFC Bournemouth and a creditable 1-1 draw away to Real Madrid in the Champions League in midweek, the England international – who spent time on loan at Liverpool’s close rivals Everton from Sporting Lisbon as a youngster – is confident of getting a positive result against Jurgen Klopp’s men this time around.
“They’ve certainly been a difficult team to play against lately,” he said.
“You build up a history with teams down the years and ours isn’t too positive against Liverpool at the moment, so obviously we want to change that.
“Both teams are doing well and play really exciting football so it should be an entertaining game for the neutral and a great one to play in as well.
“Winning at home last week was a big result for us, now we need to maintain that form.”
Kick-off at the national stadium is at 4pm.
