Dier: 'Dele's got work to do to overhaul Harry!'

Harry Kane’s hat-trick against West Brom on Saturday, coupled with Dele Alli’s trio of braces in the last few weeks, means there’s quite a duel going on for the right to be named the club’s top scorer in the Premier League at the moment!
After midfielder Dele pulled level with Harry with his match-winning double against Chelsea a fortnight ago, taking his tally to 10 for the season, the striker hit back in style against the Baggies to reach goal number 13 on the domestic scene.
One man keeping a keen eye on the duo’s goalscoring exploits is Eric Dier, who is close to both Dele and Harry off the field with both club and country.
Chatting to us in the aftermath of our 4-0 victory over Albion, the versatile defender said he loves to see his team-mates continuing to rack up the goals to win us games – and even offered a tongue-in-cheek verdict on who will be our top marksman come the end of the season!
How pleased have you been to see Dele and Harry scoring so frequently in recent weeks?
“It’s fantastic. The more they score, the better it is for us as a team. It makes our job a lot easier so hopefully they’ll just keep this form up. I’m sure they will. They both work very hard for the team and they deserve it.”
How do you assess Harry’s hat-trick against West Brom?
“Brilliant! Him and Dele have been getting two goals in games quite often so to finally get a hat-trick is great for him and hopefully he can get some more before the end of the season.”
Putting you on the spot now for a laugh… who will finish the season with more goals – Dele or Harry?
“I think Dele has got work to do to catch Harry. As much as I love Dele I think it’ll take a big effort to catch him!”
But does Dele still have more goals in his locker?
“I hope so – he’d better have or I won’t be happy!”
