Dele Alli described how his emotions went from ‘one extreme to the other’ in the space of a minute at Leicester.
The young midfielder came off the bench in the second half and soon scored his first goal for the club to put us ahead with only nine minutes remaining.
However, Leicester replied straight from the kick-off through Riyad Mahrez and it stayed 1-1 at the KP Stadium.
“First of all, I’m delighted to get some game time,” said Dele. “Everyone wants to play as much as they can and I’m thankful to the gaffer for bringing me on.
“I found myself in the box and it was a natural reaction to put it in the net. I went straight over to the Spurs fans and thank them for their support.
Thanks for all the messages! Delighted to get my first goal in the premier league 2day. frustrated we couldn't get the win, onto the next 1!— dele alli (@dele_alli36) August 22, 2015
“It was a dream come true, I wanted to score that first goal and I was so happy to do it but when they scored straight after, it completely killed it.
“I’d definitely say we were the stronger team but you can’t take anything away from Leicester, they’ve started the season so well and it’s a tough place to come and win, but we should have taken the three points.”
