Dele targeting home win

28 August 2015|Tottenham Hotspur

Dele Alli believes the “amazing” atmosphere created by our supporters can play a key part as we look for our first win of the season against Everton on Saturday.

The young midfielder was blown away by the backing of our travelling fans after he bagged his first Premier League goal on only his second appearance in a Spurs shirt at Leicester last weekend.

Having risen through the ranks at MK Dons, the energetic 19-year-old has never found himself up against the Toffees before.

In spite of that, he’s confident that – with our supporters out in numbers at White Hart Lane for Saturday’s 5.30pm kick-off – the players can use the backing from the terraces to their advantage as we look to take three points against Roberto Martinez’s side.

“The fans were amazing when I came on at Leicester last week. They’ve been incredible since I’ve been here and I can’t thank them enough for their support,” said Dele.

“Everton are a good team and it will be tough, but we’ll be concentrating on our own game and I’m sure we can pick up our first win in front of our home supporters.

“Of course, I’m hoping to get some game time and make my home debut at the Lane, but if it doesn’t happen this weekend, I’m confident it will come soon.”
