Dele and Harry preview City
28 July 2017|Tottenham Hotspur
It’s unlikely to have the edge of a typical Premier League match, but both Dele Alli and Harry Kane expect a competitive encounter against Manchester City in the International Champions Cup (ICC) in Nashville on Saturday.
This is the third of our ICC matches on tour in the USA having beaten PSG in Orlando and lost against Roma in New Jersey. City, meanwhile, lost against rivals United in Houston before dismantling Real Madrid 4-1 in LA.
Of course, it’s an early reunion with Kyle Walker, who switched to City a fortnight ago.
Harry said: “Our focus is on the game, how we can exploit them and try to win.
“It’s not far from the start of Premier League now (Newcastle on August 13) and there is still a lot of preparation to go, so you can’t look too far into it, but we’re all looking forward to this one.
“We’ve had two competitive games here and that’s what you want. You don’t just want friendlies and going through the motions, you want to be in amongst it and that’s what it’s likely to be like on Saturday.”
Both Harry and Dele played 75 minutes against Roma and Dele added: “We have to keep working hard and it will be good to get more minutes.
“City are a great side and it will be another good test.
“We’re building up for the start of the season and it was a disappointing result against Roma but we’ll make sure we work to get it right for Newcastle.”
We kick-off at the Nissan Stadium - home of NFL team Tennessee Titans - at 5pm local time (11pm UK).
