Defoe on Forest draw
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Jermain Defoe admitted our FA Cup run has been anything but routine following the 1-1 with Nottingham Forest at the Lane on Sunday.
We will go again at the City Ground on Wednesday March 2, the second of our three FA Cup ties this season to extend into a replay. The third round encounter with Brighton was also a real test, settled by Robbie Keane's spectacular late goal.
"It's the FA Cup and the games are always different," considered the striker, who scored his fifth goal in five games against Gary Megson's Championship side.
"I thought they played really well, they battled, worked hard and made it difficult for us. They had their chances, we had ours and we go back to their place now. I think it was a fair result."
The England international concedes that encounters against teams enjoying a big day out in the competition, backed by an army of fans, provide more than tricky opposition.
"These games are difficult, we just want to win the game and sometimes you can get frustrated. They worked hard and made it hard for us," he reasoned, before adding he was slightly surprised his free-kick found its way over the line just before the break.
"I think the ball moved and I hit it quite hard - when I saw it go over the line it was great.
"Overall we are a little disappointed, but we have got to be positive over getting a result there."
