Deano's support for Anthony
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Dean Richards has a simple message of support for his fellow defender Anthony Gardner: "Keep your head up."
Anthony suffered another blow in an injury-hit season when he tore his hamstring in the 1-1 draw at Chelsea on Saturday.
Thigh and knee injuries restricted the stylish defender to just three appearances since September and he now faces another eight weeks on the sidelines.
Dean has plenty of sympathy for the 21-year-old having suffered his fair share of injuries during a 10-year career including a dreaded cruciate knee ligament that needed reconstruction in his time at Wolves.
"I feel for Anthony, definitely," said Dean. "There is nothing worse than being out injured. It is so frustrating, especially when you come back from one and then get another straight away.
"He's got to keep his head up and try to get back as soon as possible.
"He's played brilliantly this season when he's played and against Newcastle last week, alongside me, he was first class.
"It is difficult for him. It looks like being eight weeks so by the time he comes back it will be near the end of the season.
"His main aim next season must be to stay fit and play the majority of the games."
