Dazza's fitness tonic
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Darren Anderton nominated his prolonged fitness as one of the most satifying aspects as he looked back on a busy season.
Of course, Darren has suffered his injury troubles over the years, but has enjoyed his most productive season for a while - fitness wise - and missed only six games in total, four in the Premiership.
His 34 appearances in the Premiership represents his best return since the 1994-95 season. He did, however, play a total of 46 games in all competitions during the 1998-99 campaign. Since that season, a series of niggles and an Achilles problem restricted his outings until the beginning of the season just completed.
Darren was naturally delighted with his continued availability for selection, although a mid-season hamstring injury proved a frustration.
"I've been fit, so that's been nice," reflected Darren. "I'm very pleased with that and I think it's gone pretty well.
"I picked up the slight hamstring tear in February, which hampered me for six or seven weeks, but it wasn't able to keep me out totally.
"Although that was disappointing, playing wise it's been a good season."
Darren's injury caused a slight dip in his earlier impressive form, but it did not prevent the midfielder turning out and he looked back to his best in the final home game of the season against Liverpool.
"I'd say the week before the Bolton game, I felt as if I was back to playing how I was early in the season, so it was nice to play the last couple of games pretty well.
"The last few performances were okay, we've drawn games that perhaps we should have won but, all in all, we're back on track."
