Daz determined to beat Blues

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Darren Anderton must be fed up being reminded of that record against Chelsea - he's now determined to put it right in the Worthington Cup.

As the longest-serving professional at the club, the in-form midfielder has suffered more than most at the hands of the Blues.

Just for the record, we haven't beaten Chelsea since February 1990 and Darren has yet to beat them in almost 10 years since joining us from Portsmouth in 1992.

But if there is ever a time to put it right, this is it - with a cup final and another step closer to Europe on the line.

Darren pointed out: "A lot is always said of the record but this is a different situation. It's two games and a semi-final so hopefully it will be different this time.

"It would be nice to put it behind us. Reaching a final would be a real bonus for us and reward for the performances we've put in so far.

"It's a difficult draw but I'm sure they'll be looking at it in the same way. I'm sure it will be a good game."

It's certainly a case of so far, so good, for the 29-year-old this season.

His summer Achilles problems seem a thing of the past as he's started all-but two of our 25 matches so far and earned an England recall.

He stated: "After what has happened I can look back on the first half of the season and be delighted with the way it's gone.

"I want to play in big games and the semi-final is just that.

"Hopefully we'll make it to a final and then Europe would be great as well. I think we're capable of getting into Eurupe and this is one route to do it."
