Dawson's Diary

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Spurs Lodge, 10am

International weeks are always a little strange. A lot of the lads go away with their national teams but it's business as usual here at Spurs Lodge with myself, Tom, Jake, Benoit and the goalkeepers, a small group with a few of the younger lads also training with us.

We worked hard last week, had the weekend off and now we're back in and preparing for Wolves. We've done a bit of running, nothing too major - none of those figure-of-eight runs we did in pre-season, that's for sure! They are hopefully done and dusted until next summer!

I watched the England game on Friday, a good win in Bulgaria. I'm disappointed I wasn't there, of course. It always a great honour to play for your country but I'm not there and that's football.

It was transfer deadline day last Wednesday and we're all delighted to see Scott Parker join the club, a great signing for us.

Scott's a top-class player, a winner. I played with him for England at Wales last March and have played against him on many occasions.

His strengths are that he gets his foot in, tries to break up play and gets your team playing. He gives everything every time he goes on the pitch. He's certainly a player you want on your team, rather than playing against him and I'm sure he'll be big signing for Tottenham.

I'll be watching England against Wales tonight. I played in the away match in March, we scored two early goals and the game was easy for us after that. We kept the ball well and they didn't really come at us. I'm sure it will be different at Wembley, they had a great win against Montenegro on Friday and will be full of confidence.

They haven't got a lot to lose and I'm sure they will give it their all.

I didn't see the Wales game but I'm told Gareth was excellent and that doesn't suprise me. I see it day in, day out in training and on matchdays. He's taken on some of the best defenders in the world and come out on top.

England will have to be ready if he gets on the ball because there is only one way he's going and that's forward, running at us. He will do everything to play well for Wales and we'll have to try and stop him.

Until next time!
