Daws home alone for final
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Michael Dawson was thrilled with our Peace Cup success - but admitted he was gutted to miss out on the final.
The central defender flew home early from South Korea after breaking his nose in an aerial challenge in the first group game against Boca Juniors.
We went on to win the group after beating Sundowns and drawing against Real Sociedad before triumphing 3-1 in Sunday's final against Lyon.
Michael said: "I was watching it and thinking 'I was out there last week' and all of a sudden I'm back watching it at home! It's weird.
"The lads did tremendously well. It's great news for the club to go away and win a tournament like that in pre-season. Lyon are a good side and fair play, the lads did the business. It will certainly give us confidence for the season."
'Daws' has since been given the green light to train again. "The nose is fine," he reported on Monday.
"I landed back in the UK on Tuesday, saw a few people over the last week and I've been given the all clear to start training again.
"The doctor helped me when I did it out there and I owe him one! When I came off it the pitch my nose was a bit bent but he straightened it up again in the dressing room. It's fine now. I had it covered up but I took that off and I was delighted. You could hardly tell."
