Daws and Jan discover the Turfies!
08 August 2013|Tottenham Hotspur
Michael Dawson and Jan Vertonghen joined young supporters to interact with the Club’s groundbreaking new digital entertainment platform, Tottenham Turfies, on Thursday.
Launched on Wednesday, the Turfies gives children under the age of 11 the chance to create their own fictional, avatar-style characters that live in the virtual world of our pitch, and take part in games, quizzes and other competitions online for the chance to win real life-prizes.
Our defenders were given a crash course on the new site by the youngsters, who were given a mini-tour of White Hart Lane and the chance to meet our mascot, Chirpy.
Speaking about the Tottenham Turfies, captain Michael Dawson said: “It’s a great initiative that the Club has come up with.
“With the Lane sold out every week, it’s sometimes hard for our younger fans to get the chance to see us play, but this site will bring them closer to us and keep them involved.
“I had a go on some of the games and the kids seemed to enjoy things like ‘Spot the Difference’ and ‘Topsy Turfie’ – it’s the sort of thing that youngsters love these days.”
Jan added: “It’s always nice to see kids having fun and this new site is a great way of making sure they do just that – fun online games and football is a great combination.
“I had a lot of fun spending time with the youngsters here today and getting to grips with the Tottenham Turfies, and I think the site will be a huge success.”
