Simon Davies insists the lads are revved up for revenge at Charlton Athletic tonight.
Alan Curbishley's men did the double over us in the Premiership last season, capitalising on arguably our poorest away display for a 3-1 win at the Valley and then toppling us 1-0 at the Lane.
The Welsh midfielder says those defeats hit hard. "The lads were disappointed about losing at Charlton last season, especially as they then went and beat us a home as well. We definitely owe them one.
"These are the games we all want to improve on. We won a lot of big games - Leeds, Liverpool, Newcastle away - but we want to win the games like Charlton away.
"Last season the manager always illustrated how we had to do well in these games. We started well with wins at Sunderland, Newcastle, West Ham but then we let it slip a little against the likes of Charlton, Ipswich, Southampton and Derby.
"We had a good result on Saturday, we didn't play that well so when that happens you know there is more to come. We showed that we could dig in on Saturday and we'll have to do the same again."
Charlton pushed Chelsea to the limit in their opening home fixture when they led 2-0 before losing 3-2 to two late goals.
They recovered for a gritty win from behind at Bolton on Saturday as we registered our first win against Aston Villa.
Simon added: "They've come on such a lot, they've a great team who work so hard for each other and we've got to match that."
