Davies to start?
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Jacques Santini has hinted that Simon Davies could start for the first time this season at Chelsea on Sunday.
The Welsh midfielder is approaching full fitness again after summer shin surgery.
Simon came off the bench for 25 minutes in last weekend's draw against Norwich City and followed it up with 65 minutes for the reserves against Palace on Monday.
"For Simon it is the same situation as Robbie Keane before West Brom, he needed games," reported Jacques at this afternoon's pre-Chelsea press conference.
"We have a training session tomorrow (Saturday) and I think with 25 minutes against Norwich, an hour for the reserves and good training sessions, Simon could begin the game against Chelsea.
"If he wasn't sure before Norwich, now he has those training sessions behind him.
"He is an important player for us because we haven't that many right midfielders. In the friendly games I tried Sean Davis and the opening games Michael Brown and Jamie Redknapp, they both understood the situation and did well for the team. But it's good news for the team that Simon might be able to play the next game."
Elsewhere, Jacques said Mauricio Taricco (ankle), Dean Richards (ear), Michael Carrick (ankle) and Sean Davis remain out.
"Michael will be two or three more weeks with his ankle but hopefully Sean will only be another week with his knee," added the Head Coach.
