Davies: The future's bright
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Simon Davies is confident of a bright international future for Wales under Mark Hughes.
Our young midfielder has been widely accepted as the big plus for Wales in what has been an inconsistent and ultimately disappointing World Cup qualifying campaign.
But while the long-term future may be bright, the immediate future sees Wales desperate for a good result in Norway on Wednesday night after Saturday’s poor display against Armenia.
The goalless draw took Wales’ record to six draws and two defeats in eight games and ended faint hopes of making the play-offs.
Simon, set to win his fourth full cap against his Spurs team-mates Oyvind Leonhardsen and Steffen Iversen tonight, insisted: “Everyone knows we are better than we were against Armenia.
“We know it's one bad result among a string of very impressive, improving performances.
“We have got to get ourselves into the right frame of mind for playing in Norway next and then turn our attention to the future and the next tournament - which is the European Championships.
“We know we can continue to improve. I know it doesn't look like that when you see the results, but the players know and understand what has been happening inside the squad and what the manager has been doing. It will get better in the future under him, I'm sure of that.”
