Davies ready to dig in
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Simon Davies has battled back from injury - he now knows he faces a battle to get back into the team.
The Welsh midfielder returned to action after recovering from summer shin surgery as a second half substitute in the goalless draw against Norwich City on Sunday.
He continued to top up his fitness levels with a 65-minute stint for the reserves in Monday night's 1-1 draw against Palace.
The 25-year-old hopes to feature again in the big Premiership clash at Chelsea on Sunday but knows it's not a case of strolling back into Jacques Santini's starting line-up.
"We look strong," said Simon. "We've a lot of new players, quality players and the training is very sharp. From a personal point of view it's nice to be involved in that again every day.
"It's early days yet, we're still all getting to know each other and we've only really been training together for a couple of months. It's gone well so far and hopefully there is more to come.
"Hopefully when I'm fully fit I can offer something to the team.
"Browny and Jamie have played down the right but would both probably admit it's not their first-choice position although they would play anywhere for the club.
"It is my first-choice though and, as I said, when I'm fully fit I'd like to think I can offer something down the right for the team.
"Sunday was my first involvement in any sort of game, 25 minutes and the reserve game was all about getting my fitness levels up. I enjoyed it, getting back into playing. I need my sharpness back. I still feel a bit sluggish but that's to be expected with the amount of time I've been out.
"It would be great to be involved against Chelsea in some capacity although Browny did well on the right against Norwich and perhaps I'm not quite ready to be pushing for a starting place.
"There is another reserve game next week so say if I get another 20 minutes against Chelsea, push on for a full game for the reserves and go from there."
