Davies digs Earnie
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Simon Davies just about resisted saying 'I told you so' on the subject of his Welsh team-mate and West Brom striker Robert Earnshaw.
The midfielder has happily talked up the qualities for the last couple of seasons and always insisted he would score goals in the Premier League.
'Digger' been proved right this season with Earnshaw bagging 10 league goals in 25 appearances - including only 15 starts - so far for a Baggies side fighting for survival. Add three goals in the Carling Cup and it's an impressive 13 in 28 matches.
Indeed, only seven players have scored more league goals than Earnshaw - four of those just a goal ahead of him - and he is currently joint-fifth in terms of British marksmen alongside Southampton duo Kevin Phillips and Peter Crouch.
"Earnie's always been very dangerous in front of goal and doesn't miss too many chances," said Simon.
"He's done well for West Brom for £3million and he's rewarded them in terms of goals. Goalscorers are hard to find and he's certainly one of them.
"We met up with Wales just after his hat-trick at Charlton and he was delighted with that. Most of us knew he had it in him."Simon sees our final five games as 'cup finals' as we bid for a UEFA Cup place.
"In the last couple of seasons we've had nothing to go for but these are now the biggest games of the season," he said.
"We've five left and every game is like a cup final. It just keeps the season alive. West Brom are playing well and are on of the in-form teams of the Premier League, so we expect another tough game."
Meanwhile, Simon is right back on top of his game after coming back from Wales and being rested for Manchester City.
"We had the internationals and I'd played every game, my shins were a little sore so I was rested," he added.
"I had six days rest, trained before Newcastle and that little break has helped me kick on to the next level of fitness. I feel really good."
