Davies determined<br>to repay club's faith
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Simon Davies is determined to repay the faith of the club and the fans as he returns from injury.
The Welsh star has managed just a handful of games in the last year after being sidelined by hip and shin problems.
Surgery to clear up the shin complaint six weeks ago has been successful and after a week's full training, albeit without much contact, Simon is hoping to be available for selection for the visit of Norwich City on Sunday.
"I owe Tottenham a lot," insisted the 2002 Spurs and Welsh Player of the Year. "Last year was a difficult year but the club has stood by me, I've got a new long-term contract and I want to repay that faith.
"The fans have been brilliant, very patient when I've been injured and once I get back in the team I can move on with my career.
"It's been a year since I've played free of injury. It's been difficult. Touch wood I'm pain free for the first time in a long time so I'm looking to get back in the team and do well."
It says a lot for the 24-year-old's determination that he's not really thought about what could be one of the biggest games of his career - England against Wales in the World Cup qualifiers at Old Trafford next month.
"That's a great target a month down the line but Tottenham is my main priority at the moment," he stated.
"Wales will be a bonus and England will be a great game to be involved with. But all I'm thinking about is getting back playing for Tottenham. Hopefully I'll be back for Wales in that game with a few matches under my belt for Spurs."
