Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Simon Davies was thrilled to get back on the first team trail against West Brom, clocking up 75 minutes on his return from a viral infection.
The midfielder has been missing since mid-November and, after a game and a half for the reserves, accepted the challenge of replacing the injured Pedro Mendes on the right for the FA Cup 4th round tie at the Hawthorns.
"Pedro pulled up yesterday and Martin asked me if I felt ready to play," reported Simon. "Obviously I am thrilled to get 75 minutes of first team football under my belt.
"I was happy with the way it went, it could have gone a bit better though and I could have had a couple of goals. It is a good result for us and we can take them back to White Hart Lane now.
"It was a tough game for us and we had to battle with them. We had a couple of chances to score in the second half and I thought we could have nicked it - although they could have too.
"It was difficult, but we now have the chance to face them at home and we are looking forward to that game."
Robert Earnshaw opened the scoring for the home side with a neat volley from a Robinson cross, with Jermain Defoe levelling from the penalty spot 14 minutes later after he was felled in the area by Darren Purse.
Simon himself had a chance to snatch a winner on 67 minutes when a superb dipping cross from Defoe found him six yards out. Under pressure from Neil Clement, he nodded wide.
"I thought it was going right onto my head!" he explained. "I got a little nudge, it hit me on the side and I thought it was a foul. I should have scored and I am disappointed with that. To have scored the winner would have been special for me."
As a player plays a high-energy game, where does he put himself - fitness-wise - at this stage?
"I felt better as the game went on and I did play 90 minutes on Wednesday night. I felt better in the second half than I did in the first, I sort of got my second wind. Fitness takes time, hopefully I can now get a few games under my belt, although physically I feel very good.
"I think I am about 85 per cent and nearly there, it is now about getting that match sharpness. That will come through games, I've missed a lot of football in the last year and it is not going to come back straight away."
