Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Winning goalscorer Simon Davies hinted that there is more to come from him when he reaches full match fitness.
The young Welshman, making his first start under Glenn Hoddle’s management, turned in a composed and extremely effective performance in midfield that later had his manager purring with delight.
Simon was suffering from a slight in-step injury in the build-up to the semi-final which ruled-out his participation at Old Trafford, now the 21-year-old is seeking a run of games to prove his worth to the new boss.
"I was pleased in the first half but I don’t think I’m match fit," admitted Simon. "Playing odd games in the Premiership is hard. I was happy with my performance but I know I can do better.
"I’ll be looking to build on this. There are a few injuries around and I’ll look to capitalise on that. Hopefully I’ve done enough to stay in for Saturday. We’ve got some big games coming up, great games to be involved with and it will be great experience to be involved."
The added incentive of impressing Glenn was not lost on Simon as he seeks to build a bright future for himself at the Lane — and you sense the return of the leader of the midfield Culture Club rests well with an aspiring member.
"All the lads were looking to impress the manager especially with this being his first game at home with him. It was a good game, end to end with them playing three up front, but I thought we created enough chances to win and I was delighted to get the winner.
"It was very important for me to play well. He’s the sort of manager who lets you go out and play, to express yourself and there is no fear under him as long as you are playing well. I’m delighted with the goal and hopefully I can play a bit more and get my fitness levels up."
