David Ginola

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

DAVID GINOLA (1997-2000)

Arguably our most popular modern-day player, David Ginola's French flair dazzled all down the left wing in his three seasons at the Lane.

'Le Magnifique' made exactly 100 Premiership starts for us in that time, 127 in all competitions, scoring 22 goals.

His finest season came in 1998-99, when a string of inspirational displays helped us to a Worthington Cup triumph at Wembley and the semi-finals of the FA Cup - who can forget his goals against Leeds United, Wimbledon and Barnsley? - and clinched him a PFA/Football Writers Player of the Year double.

Ginola began his career at Toulon in his native France and played for Matra Racing and Brest before hitting the big time at Paris St Germain where he won the lot between 1991-95.

Newcastle brought him to the Premiership in 1995 and he was a hero on Tyneside before moving to the Lane in 1997. He moved to Villa in 2000 and after an indifferent spell, switched to Everton for the last few months of the 2001-02 season.

Appearances/goals: 100/13 (Lg), 11/5 (FAC), 13/4 (LC), 2(1)/0 (Eur).
