Danny Rose scored in Georgia - and he has goals on his mind.
The full-back curled home a beauty as we secured a 5-0 win in our Europa League play-off, first leg against Dinamo Tbilisi on Thursday night.
“I’ve set myself some targets and one is to score more goals,” said Danny, a regular fixture at left-back throughout pre-season and now into the campaign. “It was a nice finish and I was delighted to see it go in.”
Danny was just as pleased for Andros Townsend, who scored the opening goal and set-up the next two for Paulinho and Roberto Soldado. Danny’s strike and Roberto’s second completed the scoring in Tbilisi.
“Andros has been on fire through pre-season and it’s great for him to take his chance with Aaron out injured,” said Danny.
Focus now turns to Swansea in the Premier League on Sunday.
“We can’t take it for granted after their result against United last week, there aren’t many teams who will be able to beat Swansea by that scoreline (4-1) and I’m sure they will try everything to get points on the board,” added Danny.
“It will be difficult but we’ll be ready to go."
