Danny likes Kyle's style!

27 November 2015|Tottenham Hotspur

Danny Rose has heaped praise on fellow full-back Kyle Walker after his first goal in almost two years contributed to last Sunday’s big win against West Ham.

The England international right-back completed our side of the scoreline as we triumphed 4-1 against the Hammers at White Hart Lane.

Picking up Heung-Min Son’s return pass, the 25-year-old arrowed a shot into the far corner of the net with the outside of his right boot to put us well and truly out of sight after two goals from Harry Kane and a Toby Alderweireld header had given us a three-goal advantage.

Left-back Danny was also in the thick of the action against our London rivals, but was keen to praise the efforts of the man at the opposite end of our defensive line after his first strike since a 2-2 draw with Manchester United on December 1, 2013.

“I’m over the moon for Kyle,” said Danny, also 25. “With the ability that he has and the way he plays his game, if he doesn’t mind me saying it, he could be in that sort of position a lot more than what he has been so I’m delighted for him.

“It was a great finish with the outside of his boot as well. It’s not one I’m used to seeing from him in training, that’s for sure!”

Kyle has started all 13 of our Premier League games so far this term after an injury-interrupted 2014-15 campaign.

Danny for one is glad to see his team-mate playing at a consistent level and making key contributions towards our impressive collective displays this season.

“He’s been brilliant,” Danny added. “He’s been the number one right-back here at the club for the last four years and it’s been well deserved.

“The ability that he’s got is brilliant and I’m so happy for him. I hope he has a great season and that he can be the starting right-back for England at the Euros next summer if selected.”
