Daniels lives his dream
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Charlie Daniels says it will be a dream come true when he walks out at White Hart Lane with his under-18 teammates to take on Nottingham Forest in the FA Youth Cup.
For the Spurs-supporting leftie, it will be his first time playing a match at the Lane, although he has trained on the pitch before some years ago.
"I've only trained there once for the under-13s," he recalled. "That was only for an hour so this is going to be the biggest game of my life so far.
"Walking out at White Hart Lane with a crowd clapping us on is going to be a dream come true for me.
"There will be nerves, but you can tell the boys are all up for it and all have their minds on the game. We practiced penalties the other day and we are taking it really seriously. I scored mine, of course.
"Our confidence is good, when we all played together against Leicester the game before last and we did really well so we are on a high."
It will be a chance to impress for Pat Holland's boys with Sporting Director Frank Arnesen in the crowd along with Martin Jol and his staff. Far from feeling the pressure of scrutiny, Charlie says the boys will relish the opportunity to impress in front of the management team.
"Obviously we will be happy to see them there. It would be nice to do the business in front of them and sow a seed in their minds."
