Czechered return for Goran
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Goran Bunjevcevic went through mixed emotions on his return to international duty last weekend.
Our stylish defender was back in the Yugoslavian set up for the first time in over a year for their friendly against Czech Republic in Prague.
But the Yugoslavs' final preparation before the start of their Euro 2004 qualifying campaign next month ended in disaster and a 5-0 defeat.
Goran, who played the first half, was delighted to be back but, reflecting at Spurs Lodge, was naturally disappointed by the result.
"It was very nice for me to be back," he said. "The result wasn't good but it was a friendly game, much more important is the qualifying game that is coming against Italy.
"We all had a very bad game and the Czech Republic had a very good night. I cannot believe we lost 5-0 but that can happen.
"Qualification is much, much more important. Friendies are good for the players but they are forgotton very quickly. Italy is much more important and we will now prepare for that.
"It's been a long time since I was with the national team, before I was at Spurs. It was great to see the guys, to go home, see some family. I want to forget the game but everything else was perfect."
