Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

The FITC scheme supports the PE curriculum in our local schools across the Haringey Borough by providing improved quality of coaching in terms of teaching children new skills and improving their enjoyment of the game.

learning from the best
This element of the scheme, supported through the Single Regeneration Budget (SRB) and New Deal for Communities (NDC), reaches approximately 3360 children within Haringey each year. The boys and girls are aged between five and 16 and comprise a diverse ethnic mix.
The FITC scheme has helped many aspects of teaching sport in the local community of Haringey by:
  • Providing excellent aids for teachers who are not PE trained, allowing them to adopt the teaching models used by our experienced coaches.
  • Improving the quality of coaching - 92.9% of the children rated the Tottenham FITC coaching better than normal PE lessons.
  • Carrying out PE lessons in the purpose-built indoor facility at White Hart Lane.
  • Enabling local schools to extend their extra-curricula football activity, overcoming the widespread problem of insufficient resources in terms of non-PE staff volunteering to supervise clubs.
  • Organising inter-school 6-a-side tournaments for primary and secondary schools throughout the year;

“Individuals wishing to succeed in sport, either on their own or in teams, need the help of others to provide the facilities, equipment and the opportunities which is where Tottenham Hotspur have stepped in. In an area as deprived as Tottenham it is essential that local stakeholders take an interest in their environment. Spurs have done so and continue to be a leading light through their Football in the Community scheme.”
David Lammy, MP for Tottenham and Parliamentary, Under-Secretary of State at Department of Health.
