Glenn Hoddle believes that last season's Worthington Cup win over Chelsea, while only provoking positive thoughts, counts for nothing when we meet again on Sunday.
Indeed, the boss insists this latest clash against Chelsea at the Lane is about one thing - trying to go above the Blues in the Premiership table.
Few fans will ever forget our 5-1 semi-final demolition of Claudio Ranieri's men to progress to the Worthington Cup Final last season.
But Glenn says both himself and the players have to move on. "I'm sure for the supporters more than anything it was very big after not beating them for so long, but as professionals you switch off from all that.
"It's in the past and we have to make sure we go out and perform. More importantly, as manager, I want to see us bounce back after losing at Liverpool.
"Of course that worthington Cup win has to be positive, especially in the way we did it, but like the results they've had against us in the past, it is also in the past and we can't rest on that.
"This is all about going above them if we can win. That is what this weekend is about.
"It's not about history, not about records, not about the Worthington Cup win we had, it's about this moment and can we go into a position higher than them.
"They will be aware of that as well and will no doubt go into it with all guns blazing."
