Cup Magic is back!
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Glenn Hoddle believes the magic of the FA Cup is back - if it ever went away.
The boss has been touched by that magic as much as anyone.
In a glittering playing career at the Lane he played in five finals (counting replays) including one of the greats in 1981, scored in two and netted the winner against QPR in 1982.
Indeed, it was somewhat fitting that he bowed out from Spurs in 1987 in another memorable final - this time on the wrong end of 3-2 defeat against Coventry City.
"It's all about tradition. I don't think anything has been taken away from the competition and it's coming back round again after the couple of years where people were tinkering with it.
"The FA Cup has always been the second thing domestically behind the league championship.
"It's probably the biggest domestic cup in the world. The foreign players have always know what the FA Cup is about and when I was playing in France, I was amazed how big it was over there, how players knew all about the FA Cup and used to watch it every year.
"We've got a good history and we want to go all the way if we can. That's what we're striving to do by going down to Southampton and knocking them out hopefully."
So did Glenn motivate the lads by telling them what it's like to play in finals - just like he experienced?
"No need to reminisce!" he joked. "We've got players who have experienced cup finals, Gus, Teddy and they know what it's about."
