CSKA boss Slutsky wary of quartet

27 September 2016|Tottenham Hotspur

CSKA Moscow boss Leonid Slutsky has identified a handful of our players who he believes will pose an attacking threat in tonight’s (Tuesday, September 27) UEFA Champions League clash in Russia.

The 45-year-old managed against our England contingent when he was in charge of Russia at Euro 2016.

But now he's ready for an altogether different challenge and has earmarked several players as danger men.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Slutsky said: "We can talk about Son, Janssen, Eriksen, Lamela – all these players are pretty dangerous.”

Asked how he intended to set his team up when defending set pieces, the CSKA boss added: “The question is not how are we going to defend against them at set pieces, but how we are going defend against their attacking potential overall.

"Last year, Spurs had an amazing team and tried to win the title. This season they play a little different because many teams sit back against them."
