Craig revved up for home success

Craig Dolby is aiming to take Tottenham Hotspur SF to a hat-trick on home soil in the Superleague Formula this weekend.

Craig Dolby is aiming to take Tottenham Hotspur SF to a hat-trick on home soil in the Superleague Formula this weekend.

Our highly-rated driver is after a third-successive podium place after finishing third in the first race of the opening round at Magny-Cours and taking the chequered flag last time out in the first race at Zolder, Belgium.

That was our first chequered flag in Superleague Formula and Craig admits confidence is sky high going into the ‘home' round of the series at Donington Park on Saturday and Sunday.

That win took us up to third overall and we're now second in the championship behind Liverpool following the withdrawal of Al Ain. They have been replaced by Sevilla.

"I'm excited by this meeting - I only live about 20 minutes away from Donington and everything is looking great going into it, the team is buzzing," beamed Craig.

"It's the big one for all the British teams. It will be tough because Liverpool will be quick but I know we can raise our game again and do what we need to do.

"I want that hat-trick of podium finishes and I want to put the pressure on Liverpool in the championship.

"We're so quick that I know we can do that and I'm determined to go out there and enjoy it."

Craig would love to see Spurs fans cheering him on at Donington.

"That would be a massive boost for me," he added. "Standing on the podium at Zolder having won the opening race was an emotional moment and I'd love to do the same at our home event in front of the Spurs fans. That would be something special."

The Superleague Formula weekend schedule starts with the first of three practice sessions at 9.05am and then qualifying from 2.50pm-4.10pm.

Sunday is race day. The first is off at 11am, the second 2pm and the Golden Race returns at 3pm.
