Continuity the key
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Gary Doherty pinpoints the lack of continuity as the key problem in our defensive ranks this season.
Big Doc made his first start since September as part of the central defensive three in Sunday's 4-3 thriller against Everton.
Has has suffered alongside the likes of Steve Carr, Ledley King, Chris Perry, Dean Richards, Anthony Gardner and now Christian Ziege with injuries this season.
"It's been terrible at the back this season," said Gary. "Players have come in, done well and then been injured and it's been hard to keep any sort of continuity at the back.
"I'm sure once we get a settled back three we'll move on from there."
Nevertheless, Doc agreed with boss Glenn Hoddle's sentiments after Sunday's win that the defence and team as a whole could have dealt better with the goals conceded.
"It was always going to be tough," he reflected. "Radzinksi is sharp and McBride wanted to make his point over here.
"We stuck at it in the defence, could have done better with the goals but we've had a chat about that, not just Everton but Southampton as well, so hopefully we can put a few things right at the back now."
As for his own contribution, Doc is now hoping for a run of games after initially slipping down the pecking order and recently returning from a knee problem.
He added: "Sunday was my first start in a few months and it was always going to be hard against a team like Everton who have been going well.
"I knew it would be tough and I only realised I would be playing a couple of hours beforehand.
"I thought I coped okay. Winning wasthe main thing though and it was an important three points for us."
