Jan Vertonghen is determined to put together a positive run of results in the Premier League.
We’ve won three matches on the trot in all competitions since our disappointing 2-1 loss at home to Newcastle on October 26.
Having beaten Villa in dramatic fashion at Villa Park last week, Jan is targeting three points against Stoke back in front of our fans on Sunday (1.30pm).
“We won our last Premier League game against Villa, we want to go on a run and a home game against Stoke is a possibility for us,” said the defender who captained the team against Asteras Tripolis on Thursday.
“We’ve won three games in a row now. We’re up again and we need another win.”
Jan is well aware that Stoke have developed a passing style of football under Mark Hughes and are not as direct as they were when he first arrived at Spurs in 2012.
“This is not the Stoke from a couple of years ago,” he added. “They try to play and that’s perhaps better for us, we like to play teams who want to come and play football as well.”
