Confident Kane

Harry Kane expects another difficult encounter with Newcastle tonight – but is confident of getting the job done.

The Magpies have won on their last two Premier league visits to White Hart Lane, the latest being a 2-1 victory in October.

But as we prepare to meet Alan Pardew’s men once again, this time in the quarter-finals of the Capital One Cup, in-form striker Harry is keen to ensure we progress into the competition’s last four at the expense of the North East side.

“It’s going to be a tough game,” admitted the England Under-21 international, who opened the scoring with an early header in Sunday’s 2-1 win at Swansea.

“Newcastle beat us at the Lane the last time we played them so we want some revenge for that. They’ve done well since they beat us, so we’ll have to be on our game to get through to the semi-finals.”

Tonight’s winners will be a two-legged semi-final away from Wembley and Harry for one is keen to tread a path to the national stadium for a showpiece final.

“I think we’ve made it clear that we want to do well in the cups,” he added. “We want to win this game and get into the semis. Wembley isn’t too far away and that’s where we’re aiming to get.”
