Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
As our Community Scheme enters its fifth year, our aim of becoming the biggest and best in the Premiership continues to be our target. The scheme's vast and rapid development from last year can be illustrated in a number of ways:
53.2% increase of the number of children reached by the department has been achieved with 122,690 children in total being coached last year.
The quantity and range of coaching activities we organise has also expanded, for example new initiatives working with disabled children, cub scouts, children with behavioural problems.
The total number of people working in the department has risen from two to seven.
We now not only embrace children from the local area, but across North London, Essex, Hertfordshire and Middlesex.
This year, the scheme plans to build upon the programmes previously set up, as well as develop brand new initiatives. We are in the final stages of creating a tournament to involve over 6,000 children to be held later in the year, and our two new members of staff will be delivering coaching initiatives into fan base areas not currently covered.
CRACKING CHRISTMAS COACHING
During the Christmas holidays, 300 youngsters attended coaching courses here at White Hart Lane. Each course consisted of fun football skills in the morning, a tour of the stadium, games, competitions, and each child received a special Spurs Santa Goodie bag. There was also a specialist goalkeeping course run by ex-player and Academy goalkeeping coach Perry Suckling.
We are holding some more coaching at White Hart Lane this February Half Term.
