Colin's bowled Dover
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Colin Calderwood wore the look of a satisfied man after leading his Spurs XI to a 4-1 friendly win at Dover Athletic on Thursday night.
It was certainly a case of the friendly serving its purpose. First of all Steffen Iversen scored and completed 64 minutes on his return from an abductor strain. "And he could have gone on further," Colin pointed out.
Oyvind Leonhardsen and Alton Thelwell managed to get valuable playing time under their belts and, arguably most satisfying for Colin, Ghyslain Vedeux, Jimmy Lee and in-particularly Mark Hughes all equipped themselves well on rare reserve outings.
John Piercy, John Sutton and Yannick Kamanan joined Iversen on the scoresheet against the Nationwide Conference outfit.
"It was very pleased how it went," said Colin. "First of all Steffen came through okay and both Alton and Leo got the game they needed.
"But it was a young team out there and a couple of boys who haven't played for us, Jimmy Lee and Ghyslain Vedeux, both did very well. Mark Hughes also did well in central midfield for us."
