Colin raves about Dave
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Colin Calderwood has described Dave Beasant as 'an example to every footballer'.
Big Dave, 42, has joined us on a two-month deal as Neil Sullivan's deputy following an injury to number two Kasey Keller.
A famous FA Cup winner with Wimbledon back in 1988, Dave remains the epitome of enthusiasm, clearly evident as he turned out for his second reserve game in bleak conditions on Monday night.
Colin, his reserve team boss and former team-mate at Nottingham Forest, lavished praise on the veteran stopper after that 0-0 draw against Wimbledon at Stevenage.
"It's very hard for players who have played a number of first team games, and he's played more than anyone, but he's still got that enthusiasm to talk through a reserve game on a Monday night against Wimbledon," said Colin.
"He's got so far because of his dedication and he's kept going until now because of that dedication and enthusiasm.
"I was with him last year at Forest and he was player of the year there.
"From Monday to Saturday he trained like a trojan and he got the rewards on a Saturday.
"One thing about Bes is that he'll talk through the game and whether that's to keep himself concentrated or for others it doesn't matter, it's of a benefit to everyone.
"It's an example to everyone and a lesson to everyone that it's not just about the glory of playing for the first team and playing in cup finals."
