Colin on Blondel blinder
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Colin Calderwood paid tribute to the performance of Jonathan Blondel after the Belgian youngster had 'his best game for us so far' against Wimbledon for the reserves on Monday.
The was little doubt among the onlookers at Kingstonian that the 18-year-old was the star turn of the night. Buzzing around the pitch, the diminutive midfielder ran the show, accepting just as much responsibility for defensive duty as attacking.
"Jon was very, very good - very lively," purred Colin. "What pleased us all was the real discipline in his game. With Tim Sherwood playing with him in the first half you would expect Tim to hold, but he was making the forward runs and Jon sat in.
"He is a very, very talented boy and he's produced possibly his best game for us so far on a very difficult pitch.
"You could see everything that he's got - all the good points came out.
"He set the tempo in midfield and it went right throughout the team. I thought Gary Doherty was immense and was a good target man for us. Neil Sullivan was also excellent and berated his defence when he didn't like what he saw.
"It all helps towards a combined team performance and I think we got that. It's not often you get that in reserve football."
