Colin down after Ram raid
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Colin Calderwood struggled to find any positives after the reserves were beaten 4-0 by Derby County at Burton Albion last night.
Table-topping Rams, inspired by Fabrizio Ravanelli, took an early lead, doubled it before the break, had Andy Oakes to thank for two outstanding saves in a minute on the hour as we pressed following a sending off and then added two late goals.
Boss Colin had no complaints. "In some ways we deserved to get beat 4-0 because we didn't compete as well as they competed, didn't look as if we were as good as them individually and didn't hunt the ball as well as them.
"So we deserved it and within a defeat there is always something wrong.
"If you don't match a team to start with and then find yourselves behind you then have to do something extra to win the game - you don't let your man go beyond you, you jump higher, tackle stronger and from there you might be able to show your ability.
"In the second half when they were down to 10 men the goalkeeper made a couple of good saves and a goal then would have made a difference.
"But after that good period the rest of the half became a little sterile and although we kept the ball we didn't produce enough in the final third. That was the disappointing thing.
"We started the first half sloppily and finished the second half poorly and within those periods, we conceded two goals twice."
