Colchester 0-0 Spurs - youngsters impress Andre

20 July 2013|Tottenham Hotspur

Andre Villas-Boas has been impressed with the contribution of our younger players in the friendlies against Swindon and Colchester.

Kevin Stewart, Nabil Bentaleb, Zeki Fryers, Cristian Ceballos, Laste Dombaxe and Shaq Coulthirst have all gained valuable playing time in our opening pre-season encounters this week.

"It’s been a good opportunity for them," said Andre after the goalless draw at Colchester.

"I have to say Zeki Fryers, for example, did well as a central defender.

"Shaq came on and showed good tactical discipline, Laste's performance evolved from Swindon as well.

"All of these minutes with the first team are important for their confidence for the future and it also gives the fans to the chance to see them."

We return to action on Wednesday, when we take on Sunderland in our first match of the Barclays Asia Trophy in Hong Kong.
